Accounting rule breaks	Tests for adherence to basic accounting principles so you can discuss, amend or disclose, and stop the issue recurring. Do nominal account balances close in the correct position and are transactions entered in the correct nominal account?
Trend-rule breaks	Identifies any significant changes in established trends. An exceptional increase or decrease in bank account transactions or a sharp increase in entertainment expenses.
Exceptional values	Identifies any single transaction with abnormally higher values than expected. An expensed capital item within a general maintenance account.
Unusual combinations	Identifies transactions with unusual field entries. A journal entry such as a depreciation charge that has a VAT-bearing tax code would be classed as an unusual combination.
